Homeowners who either had insurance, qualified for an SBA
loan, or received FEMA money do not qualify as an MDS project.
The problem for many homeowners is that these monies received
are not enough to complete their projects.

Local leadership at Inglesia Amor Viviente - New Orleans
has been and continues to do case work for every project.
Volunteer teams and additional money from the church's Donation
Fund will be assigned for each project. Home owners will
be blessed to have their homes completed and their families
back together in their homes.
Here are some typical home projects of members of Amor Viviente

House # 4
Broken concrete has been dumped in the back yard. The yard
needs to be filled with dirt, also needs a new driveway, (
huge tree in front of his house fell down and the tree's deep
and huge roots lifted the concrete on the driveway. Needs
to replace broken fence. The owner of this home has already
reached the end of his budget, his house was been leveled
as a mandatory regulation, which turned to be very expensive.
He has no money left to finish his projects and the city will
not allow him to move into his home if the driveway is not
completed. This man, his wife, and two children stayed during
the storm. They lived in the house for 3 or 4 days with 4
feet of water in the house, and went through very difficult
and hard situations during their stay. He is on disability
due to a serious illness, but with the strength of the Lord
he has managed to rebuild his house acting as a contractor
himself.
House
# 5
Needs help with the exterior paint of the house. The house
in elevated, and she also needs help clearing the debris underneath
the house. The owner is a 55 year old widow, her homeowners
insurance only paid her $275.00, she was able to obtain money
from her flood insurance which she used to pay off the total
balance of her mortgage (her mortgage company required her
to pay them). She had to apply for a loan with the SBA in
order to begin repairs to her home. If less money is borrowed
to complete the repairs, her monthly payments will be lower.
This will be a blessing to her, since her husband died two
years ago and she lives on a limited income.
