After
10 weeks of Cleanup work (September through
November) and 4 months of Gulfhaven Family Rebuild
(December through March) - what's next?
Gulfhaven’s leadership is
seeking the Lord’s vision to move forward in an Outreach
Phase.
Volunteers from Buhler Mennonite Church in Buhler, Kansas,
have launched the Outreach Phase during the weeks of April
30 and May
7. Other volunteers are asking about helping out with
both manpower and money for Gulfhaven Outreach Projects
during Phase III. Some recent donations to the Relief Fund
have been designated specifically for outreach purposes.
Our focus inward during the Gulfhaven
Family Rebuild and Church Rebuild has been intentional
so that the time could come when we could get involved and continue
to host crews in a future Outreach Phase.
Our
desire at Gulfhaven is to be a Great Commandment and Great Commission
church, sharing God's love in deed and with the message
of the Gospel. There are scores and scores of people
on the Mississippi Gulf Coast who need help rebuilding their
homes. In addition, we want to share the hope that comes from
hearing and believing the good news that Jesus Christ came to
save sinners and to provide a sense of security and encouragement
from being a part of a local church.
At the present time, we are not sure if this Outreach
Phase means rebuilding one home or many homes. We're
seeking the Lord and are open to His leading on this.
If you are interested in joining
Gulfhaven in this Outreach Phase, you can let us know
by using the Work
Crew Contact Form.
As long as funds last the
Gulfhaven Relief
Fund will be used to purchase materials for outreach projects.
Keep us in your prayers
as we seek the Lord for the time-line of the Outreach Phase
and also as we develop criteria for future projects.
