This week volunteers are here from Arkansas, Kansas, and three groups from Illinois. Next week (Monday, Sept. 19) thirty volunteers will come from Pennsylvania.

 
Sunday service on the 18th was awesome. Here Zach and Jeff lead in worship.   Pastor Nelson introduced his daughter Angela and son-in-law, Jeff. Jeff pastors Crosspoint Community Church in Eureka, Illinois.
 
Jeff and Ang celebrated their 17th anniversary on Saturday working in Gulfport.   Pastor Nelson's 15 year-old grandson, Blake came along to work in Mississippi.
 
Brad from Crosswinds Community Church in Bloomington, Illinois shares about his experiences helping with relief efforts at Gulflhaven.   Karla and Gordon both from MDS attend services at Gulfhaven.
 
Rose's home had eye level water in it. On Sunday she shares the joy of receiving help from out of state volunteers.   Fritz Policelli, who used to live on the coast and was part of the Gulfhaven body, comes in from Washington DC for two weeks to help with clean up efforts.

Gene and Matt from Northfield Community Church in Tremont, Illinois, tarp a home in Gulfport just before they leave for home on Saturday afternoon.   Gene gets cold water from a policepatroller in Long Beach. Passes were required to enter the city. When she stopped our first thoughts were that we would be asked about our passes.
 
Brad and Al from Bloomington, Illinois look over the drywall removal for Rose.   Gene and Matt, from Tremont, Illinois remove a tree from the top of Rose's home.
 
Rose cries as crews arrive early on Saturday morning to help.   Water flooded to eye level in Rose's home. Rose lives in Diamond Head and it has never flooded there before.
 
On Friday the Eureka and Bloomington work crews tackled Jay and Sharon's roof.   Jay and Sharon get a temporary fix to their damaged roof.
 
Ken Wartell, James Sims, Joh Talley, Daniel Slachta, Ryan Calalesina, and Jay Mills unload after a long trip from Colorado on Friday evening.   A mountain of clothes came from Denver and Aspen.
 
Over 20 high schools in Denver and Aspen collected items for the Gulf Coast. The delivery was made on Friday evening to Gulfhaven.   Pastor Nelson gets in on unloading supplies.

Distribution from Tremont, Illinois among many needed supplies included 400 pounds of apples and 2,000 pounds of meat.   Karla and Gordon from MDS hear about the destruction of Marc's home first hand.
 
A group from Eureka, Illinois arrived at 10 PM Thursday with supplies and plans to work beginning Friday morning.   Blake, Ang, Jeff, Cody, and Craig from Eureka stand on Highway 90 with destroyed Long Beach in the background.

Gulfhaven is blessed with supplies coming from out of state churches making deliveries.   We're getting the opportunity to restock pantries in our homes.
 
Worship on September 11. We had a great time together. Many folks have still not returned from evacuating the storm   Pastor Nelson encouraged everyone to take what food and items they needed and then to distribute supplies in their neighborhoods.
