Gulfhaven Relief - Pictures, Week 8 October 24 - October 30
We are wrapping up the Gulfhaven/MDS
clean up phase and handing the baton to Ted and Elinor
Shattuck to continue hurricane clean up. Ted and Elinor
are MDS (Mennonite Disaster Service) directors now
in the area and they are organizing a MDS/Gulfport
clean up phase that will continue at another site
in the area.
During our eighth week of Gulfhaven/MDS
clean up folks are at Gulfhaven from West Virginia
and Arizona.
We have volunteer work crews scheduled
for Gulfhaven/MDS clean up through the third week
in November who will wrap up this clean up phase.
Next? Gulfhaven Repair/Rebuild Phase II.
On the eighth week, houses are stiil
exposed.
Also on the eighth week a wet home
like this needs gutting.
Milford after a long project.
Everything broken gets dragged to the
side of the road.
The eighth week and trees still need
cleaning up everywhere.
Lindbergh's barn got a lot of damage.
Carolyn, Milford, and Joan drag trash
to the road.
More clean up piles.
This roof needed more tarping.
We're hoping permanent fixes can begin
to happen soon for members of Gulfhaven.
Milford and Stan secure a tarp.
More big piles.
Going the extra mile and raking up
a yard.
Wow, looking good.
Trees down in Gulfport.
