Israel successfully crosses the River Jordan! About
a half million people and their possessions cross on
dry ground. They are in the land promised to them and
they must be excited about taking possession. It would
seem that right now would be the time for Joshua to lead
the people forward to the battle of Jericho. Instead
they stay at Gilgal to do several things that on the
surface seem very strange. What they do could also put
them at risk before the enemy. They circumcise again
and they celebrate the Passover. What can we learn from
this? Is there a lesson for us in winning our own spiritual
battles?
