Chapter 4 marks a huge shift in Revelation. We transition
from earth to heaven. What will heaven be like? That brings
to mind the song “I Can Only Imagine.” Surely
that is true because heaven will be more than what we
could ever comprehend now. But in chapters 4 and 5, this
heavenly scene, gives us some glimpses of what heaven
is like.
Heaven is more than a vague place, that’s somewhere
beyond the rainbow. It is a specific place where believers
will spend eternity with God. I Corinthians 2:9 reads
‘no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has
conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.’
John sees five characters or groups of characters in
Revelation 4 & 5. Learning of them and what they do
opens our minds to comprehend more about this glorious
place.
