An interesting question is asked at the end of chapter
6. Verse 17 says, "For the great day of their wrath
has come, and who can stand?" In chapters 7 through
9 we get some insight into the answer.
Chapter 7 tells about 'the seal of the living God' and
about people who will be saved during the Tribulation.
This group that 'stands' risk their lives in turning to
God. God shows His mercy to those who will open their
hearts to Him, even during this incredible time of devastation
on the earth.
In chapters 8 and 9 we learn of the trumpet judgments.
These will involve unprecedented natural disasters, unbearable
demonic attack, and unimaginable warfare. Of this time
in Matthew 24:21-22 Jesus said, "For then shall be
great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning
of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And
except those days should be shortened, there should no
flesh be saved…"
