On the night that he was betrayed Christ instituted
the Lord's Supper. He did this as he and his disciples
observed the annual Passover Meal. Teaching on this is
found in Matthew 26 and in the instructions of Paul about
Communion in I Corinthians 11.
What is it all about? Who is to or who can observe it?
Do we use real wine or grape juice? Do we use one cup
or many? Do we use one loaf of bread or is using many
cracker pieces okay? Is it really the body and blood of
Christ when we partake? A lot of questions arise about
the Lord's Supper.
This passage from Paul helps us to get a grip on what
Communion is all about. In these verses he teaches that
it involves a look back, a look ahead, and a look within.
