The Hand of God - Nehemiah 2:8, 18

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Nehemiah had clarified the vision from God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He had taken time for the plan to come together. We called that a time of incubation. In the second chapter he had begun implementation. He had taken action. This is the same process for us for any initiative that God calls us to.

We see Nehemiah highly involved. In Nehemiah 2:18, Nehemiah points out another essential aspect that we can not overlook; God had a plan – it was God’s idea. When we realize this, we will be able to see two important factors for any Kingdom mission: the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man. These two factors should be in perfect balance.

Twice in chapter two, Nehemiah says that the hand of God is on him. Let’s take a look at what this means and also how we can be sure that the hand of God is on us.
